Since our founding in 1969, A to Z Rental Centre has remained a local, independent company. From our Waterloo location, we provide the best tool and equipment rentals, sales, parts, service, and repairs.
In the mid-1960s, our shop began as part of a franchise. In 1969, Garry Boyko purchased the business outright, making it truly a Waterloo-owned company. Garry led the business through many changes, including the addition of a diverse selection of rental products, with everything from moving trucks, tent trailers, and motor homes to even bicycles and party supplies. While our product offerings came and went, we’ve always been set on helping customers get things done with tool and equipment rentals.
Big & Bigger
The early 1980s brought more than big hair; A to Z Rental Centre’s services became bigger as well. We became an authorized sales, service, and parts dealer for high-quality brands, such as Honda Power Equipment, Stihl Industrial Products, and Echo Power Equipment. In 1990, our party goods section became so popular it necessitated its own store and is now known as A to Z Party World. Garry, being a tireless worker and great with people, built a larger customer base and attracted many skilled employees.
Change is in the Air
As the winds of change never cease, Garry made the difficult decision to retire and sell the tool division to long-time employees Peter Lavigne and Paul Hannoush.
Today, A to Z Rental Centre still offers an amazing selection of tools and equipment for rent or purchase. And, you also get a team experienced in the mechanical and construction trades to provide you with expert advice whenever you need it.
The Province of Ontario has instructed non-essential businesses and organizations to cease operations at the end of the day April 4, 2020. The province published a list of essential operations which included equipment rental and repair.
Accordingly, the management of A to Z Rental has decided to remain open. We do, however, request that our customers follow, and respect, the spirit of the provincial directives, and those of our Federal government and health care professionals, by visiting our store only when your requests are urgent and not of an elective nature.
We will be available during regular hours, via telephone or e-mail, to give guidance to anyone with questions or concerns. We can also be reached after hours by calling or texting 226-606-5590 or 226-606-5591.
We wish you and your families well and hope to see you on the other side.
